Stockprowler.com’s last pick rocketed 203% after our profile report of 2 weeks ago… and is still up 82% as of the close on Friday. Remarkable, considering that the Dow and Nasdaq fell again last week… with the Dow plummeting another 295 points on Friday. As we stated in our report of July 14, “This is not the time to have serious money invested in “quality stocks” hoping that you have caught a bottom... only to find that the companies you invested in are being investigated by the SEC...”  How prophetic that statement was with a now seemingly unending stream of corporate profit warnings, bankruptcies, mixed economic data, and of course, the expanding criminal investigations into corporate wrong-doing… Until we are certain which way the wind is blowing, Stockprowler.com will be profiling only companies that are trading at around 25 cents/share or less. These are companies that are highly speculative, but offer the small time speculator the chance for a quick score even in these uncertain times. It is flat out gambling, no question about it, but the risk here is substantially less, in our opinion, than investing serious money in so-called “quality” stocks.

Our pick for the week of Sunday, September 29, 2002 is Universal Ice Blast, Inc. (OTC BB UIBI) headquartered in Kirkland, Washington. The company has developed and patented an innovative industrial/commercial cleaning system known as Ice Blast Technology that uses compressed air and ice crystals in a non-abrasive cleaning process. At the heart of the technology is a  displace, scrub and flush system of cleaning that takes place when the ice crystals impact onto a substrate. Ice crystals deform to scrub on impact, and after impact melt into water to wash away debris. Each ice particle acts as a self-destructing scrubbing brush that flushes away contaminants, while using significantly less water than traditional water blasting. Ice blasting creates no dust and utilizes no abrasives, chemicals or detergents in the process. UIBI has positioned their technology into three billion-dollar markets: Precision cleaning (automated production cleaning / de-burring); Industrial cleaning (fixed systems parts cleaning, petrol chemical and pulp / paper); and Environmental cleaning (lead paint and asbestos abatement off steel bridges and building structures).

On September 12, CEO Rory Clarke announced that UIBI's equipment has been delivered and is operating at Ford Motor Company’s Sharonville, Ohio plant. The Automated Iceblast Gear Cleaning System is the first installation of its type to be used by the automotive industry. “We are especially pleased because, since the initial installation, Ford has requested quotes for additional machines which, if ordered, will represent over $1 million in sales,” Clarke noted… Additional orders from Ford are expected in the future according to the company.

UIBI has received the coveted 6 Sigma approval and accreditation. 6 Sigma is a rigorous application of proven quality management tools extensively used by General Electric and is widely accepted throughout the industry including in Japan and Europe. Ford Motor Company and many other large industrial firms require that its suppliers have 6 Sigma accreditation. This may have a significant impact on Universal Ice Blast for several reasons, among them is that ice blast products can be sold to Ford Group companies in Europe (Volvo, Jaguar, and Ford Europe) as well as Mazda in Japan. In addition the accreditation will make it easier to conclude deals with GM, Daimler Chrysler, and Japanese automakers in Asia. The problems Universal Ice Blast addressed at Ford exist in other automotive manufacturing plants worldwide. Management has estimated that the worldwide market for its products in automotive is $1.4 billion which it sees can be achieved over the next 10 years.

In a September 24th PR_Newswire/FirstCall news release, Universal Ice Blast, Inc. announced that their Ice Blast technology has been successfully tested and proven for nuclear decontamination. Both Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory have achieved superior decontamination  results with the  Ice Blast technology. The INEEL report stated, " the easy choice for routine use with guaranteed results is the Universal Ice Blast, Inc. Ice Blast system. It was the winner in effectiveness and also in nearly every category of the criteria evaluation. “With today's extreme concern for Homeland Security and dirty bombs in particular, the validation of the ice blast technology for nuclear cleanup presents a major opportunity for the company. We are now ready to expand beyond the automotive industry,” added Dr. Sam Visaisouk, President and Chief Operating Officer of UIBI.

Jeff Howlett, in his recent Howlett Research Report on Universal Ice Blast, Inc. expressed his belief that UIBI has “significant market potential”, stating that the “markets are very large with a currently estimated potential of $2 - $4 billion”. Howlett is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and is a veteran financial analyst. Stockprowler.com readers are encouraged to read a very interesting review of the UIBI technology in a recent Gear Technology Magazine article http://www.iceblast.net/Ford%20article.pdf.

Substantial testing and field-research with major clients within large markets has now brought the company to full commercialization of its products in these markets. The company expects breakthroughs into the precision cleaning market this year in Japan and Europe, following the success of the Ford gear cleaning machine at Sharonville Ohio. Also, as new environmental standards are being established, traditional forms of cleaning will be abandoned and replaced by safer, healthier technologies… It is the considered opinion of Stockprowler.com that UIBI offers the speculative investor a potentially stunning return on his investment… Our 12 – 18 month target on this one is $1 - $3 a share. Stockprowler.com did not receive compensation of any kind from the company or third parties for writing this report. Stockprowler.com views UIBI as a high risk/reward speculation. Readers are urged to read the company SEC filings and do their own due diligence before investing in this or any other stock.
