UDW, the Stockprowler pick for the month of August, climbed as high as 97 cents in the weeks following our report… a potential 98% gain over the closing price quoted in our report on August 3. Recently, shares of UDW have been pulling back dramatically. And, it is understandable… the Check 21 Bill has not yet been signed into law, concerns over US Dataworks financing/ stock dilution, and uncertainty over a possible reverse stock split coming on September 10. We too have become wary, but this stock has the potential to make a helluva run if the Check 21 Bill becomes law soon.

Earlier in the week we were looking at Calypte Biomedical (OTCBB: CYPT) as the likely choice for the Stockprowler pick this month. Stockprowler had CYPT in the #2 position on our Watch List last week. The share price of CYPT has tripled since we first discovered it… and doubled after we put it on our Watch List. It is our opinion that the stock price could well climb further on additional news from the World Health Organization (WHO) regarding Calypte’s urine based HIV test. The high accuracy of the  test, ease of use, and low cost has already caused the WHO to bypass the phase II trials and to review all data and available test results. If the WHO renders a positive opinion on the efficacy of the Calypte HIV test, shares of CYPT could rise quickly into the $2 - $3 range on speculative fever. Having said that, we think that CYPT is looking a bit toppy right now and could see a substantial pull-back before the next run.

Also, in the running for the Stockprowler pick for September was CirTran Corp. (OTCBB: CIRT) a Homeland Security related play trading around 2 cents… CirTran announced that it has received an initial order for its OptiCORE 100FX Fiber Optic PCI Fast Ethernet NIC family products from the United States Air Force. Trevor M. Saliba, CIRT vice-president, stated, “We are very excited about our new initial order with the United States Air Force. This contract represents yet another United States Government Agency utilizing the advanced technology and high security of Racore's Local Area Network (LAN) Card, which are manufactured by its parent company, CirTran Corp. Due to recently implemented worldwide security measures, we are confident there will be consistent new opportunities for Racore Cards to be used by additional United States and Foreign Government Agencies.”

Our stock pick for September, San Diego based One Voice Technologies, Inc., has created a revolutionary 4th Generation voice solution that allows people to use their voice as an interface to control computers, phones, in-car systems, PDAs and other types of devices. One Voice Technologies, Inc. has invested over $26 million in research and development. Customers include T-Mobile and Warner Brothers with strong technology and business partnerships with Philips Electronics and IBM. The solutions are offered through both domestic and international carriers along with reseller channels for corporations with a mobile workforce. PC manufacturers may bundle a complete voice interactive computer assistant which allows PC users to talk to their computers to quickly launch applications, websites, read and send E-mails or dictate letters. The company also offers the motion picture industry an exclusive voice interactive navigation feature for DVD movies that has been included in over 20 million copies distributed worldwide in seven languages.

New products and services are everywhere today. PDA's, Computers, CD players, Digital Cameras, Mobile Phones, Pagers, DVD, TV's, Cable TV, Satellite TV. But new products are also complicated… new interfaces to learn, multi-language manuals to read, long hold times for technical support all conspire to limit the potential of these products. How many people still can't program their VCR's? Increasingly, new device and service manufacturers are trying to tackle this problem that potentially limits adoption of their technologies. Wouldn't it be great if users could tap the power of these impressive new products without having to learn a whole new way of doing things? If you didn't have to read a manual? If you didn't have to experiment or spend hours trying to figure the thing out? …Wouldn’t it be great if you could simply talk to the products in natural language and have them do what you want them to do? Do I hear a resounding yes out there? One Voice Technologies, Inc. patented Intelligent Voice system has a flexible architecture that allows it to be easily integrated into the platforms of different products and services providing a powerful, easy to use voice interface. Forbes Magazine called the technology, “… the most clever natural language application…” Financial Times has called it “Quite extraordinary”. Steve McClure, Vice President of Software Research for IDC stated, “One Voice’s use of advanced speech processing technology is impressive and has the potential to propel it into a leadership position in this market.”

On August 20, 2003, One Voice Technologies, Inc. issued a press release in which CEO Dean Weber stated, “Since our last corporate update we now have two letters of intent to be signed, one with a carrier in Latin America and another with a PC manufacturer. With the carrier in Latin America we are negotiating the terms of a subscriber rollout of MobileVoice. Regarding the PC manufacturer we are negotiating the bundling of a voice interactive computer. We anticipate executing at least one, if not both, of these letters of intent shortly. Regarding the Fortune 50 Company that has evaluated our enterprise system, we are still waiting for final approval from the carrier that will host the system and anticipate having approval shortly. Regarding funding, One Voice is in the process of closing an additional round of funding from our current investors and anticipate closing this funding within the next few days.”

Stockprowler views ONEV as an excellent speculative opportunity. We believe the share price could easily double or triple on the anticipated news of the signing of either or both of the letters of intent. Just our opinion.
