The next Pearl Harbor will likely not be an attack on our country by land, sea, or air; instead, a more likely scenario is an attack from cyberspace that could be far more devastating and widespread. On December 2, 2004... The Washington Times reported that former CIA Director George Tenet has called for new security measures to guard against attacks on the United States by means of the Internet. Tenet called the Internet “a potential Achilles’ heel” …expressing his belief that telecommunications, specifically the Internet, are a back door through which terrorists and other enemies of the United States could attack our country. This despite the recent efforts made in securing the physical infrastructure. Known adversaries, including intelligence services, military organizations and terrorist groups like al Qaeda are researching cyberspace attacks against the United States. The national electrical power grid, oil and gas pipelines… even nuclear power plants are vulnerable to attack by cyber terrorists.

Tenet made it clear that the modernization of key industries in the United States is making them more vulnerable by connecting them with an Internet that is open to attack. Networks that rely on keys, passwords, ID's and reporting intruder attacks to a network manager for access security are especially at risk for being hacked. Tenet called for industry to lead the way by “establishing and enforcing security standards.” He emphasized “that products need to be delivered to government and private-sector customers with a new level of security and risk management already built in.”

Our stock pick for the month of December 2004 Tech Laboratories, Inc. (OTCBB: TCHL) manufactures, markets and sells patented technology for positive-access security to prevent unauthorized hacker attacks. Its proprietary DynaTraX ™ Enterprise Management System enables users to reconfigure networks electronically, and also has security features that can trap and trace intrusions (hackers) in a system automatically. This software/hardware system provides the ultimate in positive access security against the increasing threat posed by cyber terrorists. Tech Labs also recently introduced DynaTraX ™ Virtual Technician, which provides autonomic self-healing and self-managing of network technologies.

Tech Labs' primary product, DynaTraX™, is a patented (US #6414953B1) high-speed digital matrix cross-connect switch with a revolutionary new technology that can significantly reduce network downtime and achieve substantial cost savings in data and telecommunications networking environments. DynaTraX™ has the ability to stop hackers from intruding into networks, thereby thwarting cyber terrorists. DynaTraX™ electronically disconnects a hacker, detected by Intrusion Detection Software (IDS), and reconnects him to a simulated network within 60-90 nanoseconds allowing IT security personel to hold and trace the attacker.

Tech Labs recently received an order from the United States Air Force to deliver its Intrusion Detection System for installation at an undisclosed USAF base. The system will protect the Air Force's valuable assets from unauthorized intruders. The order, which is in excess of $130,000, is part of a blanket order to provide 50 IDS Systems to the United States Air Force. Tech Labs’ IDS System has been approved by the USAF  for inclusion in the Tactical Automated Security System's $500 million program.

“After extensive testing by the U.S. Air Force, we are delighted to be part of new security initiative for securing this country from terrorism,” said Bernard M. Ciongoli, President of Tech Laboratories, Inc. “We anticipate additional orders from the Air Force for our Anti -Terrorism Intrusion Detection Security System in the future and we are confident this will lead to greater awareness of our products at various levels of the Federal government.”

U.S. Congressman William Pascrell, Jr., whose 8th District in New Jersey includes Tech Labs’ North Haledon headquarters, said he “…is happy to see Tech Labs receive acceptance of its Anti-Terrorism Security Equipment by the Air Force. I am encouraged when small businesses in my district participate in national security programs and wish Tech Laboratories great success with its anti-terrorism equipment.”

On October 20, 2004 Tech Labs announced its strategic partnering with IBM… “The adoption of key autonomic computing technologies and becoming a part of the IBM autonomic vision is a milestone event for our company and its shareholders,” stated Bernard M. Ciongoli, president of Tech Laboratories, Inc. “IBM is committed to working with companies like Tech Laboratories, Inc. to incorporate autonomic computing technologies based on open standards into their products,” said David Bartlett, director, Autonomic Computing, IBM. …“IBM is making these technologies available as part of our Autonomic Computing Toolkit on DeveloperWorks to accelerate adoption in the industry.”

Congress has approved $33.1 billion for the Department of Homeland Security’s FY2005 budget. The legislation, signed into law by the president on October 18, provides DHS with hundreds of millions of dollars to upgrade information technology equipment.

TCHL closed Friday at .028 on 709,693 shares traded, up 65% for the week… Shares of TCHL have traded as high as 35 cents in the past year. Stockprowler views TCHL as a fantastic speculative opportunity at this price level. It is the opinion of Stockprowler.com that shares of TCHL could appreciate dramatically in the short term as word of Tenets’ comments on reported internationally by UPI begin to circulate on Wall Street.
