With the Dow rocketing 248 points on Thursday and another 316 points on Friday one might get the impression that the great bear has breathed his last gasp. We don’t think so… It is our opinion that this was nothing more than a sucker’s rally staged by the boys down at the corner of Wall and Broad…. What has changed since Wednesday when on that day the market plummeted over 200 points? Oh, Lehman Brothers upgraded IBM to “overweight”… whatever the heck does that mean, and General Electric reported earnings matching analysts’ expectations. How does this weigh against reports that consumer spending in September fell by the largest amount in 10 months and that a Commerce Department report shows American confidence in the economy has sunk to a 9 year low? This coupled with prospects of a war with Iraq, continued corporate turmoil, i.e., missed earnings, criminal misdeeds by CEO’s, and continued massive layoffs has to make one wonder if the late week rally is sustainable or even real? As we have stated in earlier reports, Stockprowler.com will, for the near term, be profiling only companies trading at around 25 cents/share or less. These are companies that are highly speculative, but offer the small time investor the chance for a quick score even in these uncertain times. It is flat out gambling, no question about it, but the risk here is substantially less, in our opinion, than investing serious money in so-called “quality” stocks… And there is the possibility that you might, just might, catch one of the rising stars of the next bull market. Stockprowler’s pick this week...
The business world is always looking for new ways to safeguard access to information stored on its computer networks. Restricting only those people authorized to access important information is something that has been handled so far by user ID/ passwords, personal identification numbers (PINs), or coded magnetic strips on cards. The problem with all this is that we are not actually identifying the person or individual, rather we are just verifying what information a person has or knows… and this information may be in the possession of someone other than the person for whom access to system information has been granted. Biometric authentication on the other hand compares a live “sample” of the person desiring to gain access to the information network with a template of previously stored data thus assuring protected and secured access to important information and networks… Recent headlines regarding the BugBear virus that targets online banking users and allows hackers to steal steal credit card numbers and online banking details has dramatically highlighted the need for improved network security. Our stock pick this week, Israeli based Sec2Wireless (OTC BB: TRVL) has developed a state-of-the-art technology for centralized user authentication and monitoring which provides, in a single design… the ability to recognize a person's identity. This innovative technology can be applied for physical access at airports or corporate campuses, for remote information access, i.e., Internet, call-center or cellular, and transaction-based services, i.e., e-commerce, cellular vending or point-of-sale. Trading at a little more than a penny a share, one has to ask if this is just another scam operation that sounds like the next big thing… we don’t think so. Check out this list of company key executives who have their reputations on the line:
In July, the company received an Israeli government grant for $300,000 approved by the Research Committee of Israel's Office of the Chief Scientist for funding of its security product. The product allows an unlimited number of communication devices and interfaces to be authenticated. Subsequently, on August 15, 2002, the company successfully completed its first major sale and installation of its technology to a leading Israeli financial institution. http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/020815/152175_1.html According to recent market studies, the global market for network security is likely to exceed $10 billion by 2005. Sec2Wireless projects company revenues to reach $3 million in 2003… and in excess of $10 million by 2004. Sec2Wireless recently completed a reverse merger with Travlang (TRVL) with its Internet business and associated businesses being spun off into a separate entity. Sec2Wireless expects to announce a new ticker symbol in the near future. Stockprowler.com views TRVL as a high risk ground floor speculation. The potential here is great. We expect that given the relatively low number of outstanding shares with respect to the OTC market that this stock could achieve dramatic gains on any positive news released by the company. Stockprowler.com did not receive compensation of any kind from the company or third parties for writing this report. Readers are urged to read the company SEC filings and do their own due diligence before investing in this or any other stock.
