Stockprowler's pick this week...
Pick-Ups Plus, Inc. (OTCBB: PUPS) Phone: (513) 943-4100 Corporate Website: http://www.pickupsplus.com Shares Outstanding: 125.2 million Stockprowler is looking to start the new year in a big way
with Pick-Ups Plus, Inc., a retailer and national
franchiser in the multi-billion dollar light truck and SUV aftermarket
accessory industry and single source provider to automotive dealerships for
their new vehicle preparation, environmental protection packages, detailing
and reconditioning products and services. The company’s principal activity prior to 2004 has been to operate and
franchise retail automotive parts and accessories stores (Pick-Ups Plus
Stores) catering to the truck and sports utility vehicle accessories. The
stores offer a variety of merchandise to accessorize trucks and SUVs
including: grille accessories, running boards, chrome light bars, fiberglass
fender flares, ladder racks, bug guards, heavy-duty floor mats, oversized
visors, headlight covers, tool boxes, bed liners, caps and step bars. The
stores also provide installation services of various products including
running boards, bug shields and tonneau tops. Currently, there are 5
franchised locations in operation. On “Upon
completing the acquisition of Automotive International’s auto
preservation business, we found there was a pent up demand for our ValuGard
services in Sean Hayes, Chief Operating Officer of Pickups Plus, Inc.
stated, “Within the Cincinnati market alone, our Through its Automotive Preservation Division the company
offers automotive dealerships new vehicle preparation, environmental
protection packages, detailing and reconditioning products and services. By launching this program Pickups Plus will
be in the unique position of being able to offer new vehicle purchasers a
complete line of accessories that can be bundled in the vehicle financing. Pick-Ups Plus, Inc. intends to pursue an aggressive
expansion strategy by opening additional company-owned stores, ValuGard
Processing Centers, distributorships and franchise locations to become the
first nationwide chain in its growing, but highly fragmented industry. On December 20, 2004 the company announced
its Auto Preservation, Inc. division signed a Master Distributor Agreement
with Meyer Distributing, Inc. to sell its retail car care product line and
secure Authorized Warranty Centers for its Auto Preservation warranty
products to their approximately 10,000 automotive retailer clients. “Under various private labels and the brand name ValuGard, Auto Preservation has been quietly providing automotive dealerships, professional Jobbers, detail shops, and major car manufacturers these products and services for over 20 years”, said Chairman Merritt Jesson. He continued, “Together with Meyer Distributing we are making the full line of ValuGard Professional Grade Car Care Products available to consumers for the first time.” …This is a premier car care product line, ten of the largest vehicle manufacturers in the world including: GM, Ford, Daimler Chrysler, Toyota, Mazda, Hyundai, Nissan, Renault, Saturn and Saab have relied on this product line for their own use, factory defect resolution, or have private labeled the products for resale in their dealerships. Meyer Distributing customers receive competitively priced professional grade products that are OEM approved by the major car manufacturers and because this product line is only being offered through professional automotive retailers like Meyer clients, their margins are protected. In addition, Meyer Distributing will be promoting and distributing products for Auto Preservation's Authorized Distributor and Processing Center program using its ValuGard Environmental Protection Products. Within their existing facilities, utilizing environmental friendly products and with no expensive application equipment automotive retailers can generate additional revenue. “As the New Year rolls in,
our latest program has just begun to rollout. Under a Master Distributor
Agreement, Meyer Distributing has begun receiving pallets (actually truck
loads) of our retail ValuGard Car Care product line and has begun securing
Authorized Warranty Centers for our environmental protection product lines.
Many of the Meyer’s approximately 10,000 automotive retailer clients have
pre-signed and shipments will begin the first week of January,” stated
Merritt Jesson. PUPS closed Friday at .034 on
volume of 1,283,000 shares. PUPS has been moving up steadily all week on
strong volume. We suspect word of its ValuGard distributor agreement with
Meyer Distributing is getting attention. This stock could easily hit 10 cents
in the near term if we start seeing volume in the 5 million plus range. Looks
to us like a major ground floor opportunity here. Stockprowler.com does not receive compensation from companies we profile or from third parties... we never have and never will.
